Week 2 - Devlog
In the second week, we started working on our first prototype of our game. We each did a part in order to at least have the fundamentals working, such as text boxes and menus. I created the assets for the game, such as the dialogue tree for our first case and the artwork. Martin incorporated the text I wrote in Twine into Inkle and then ported it to Unity. Ryan started setting up the UI and made working text boxes for the project. We also discussed more about the vision of the game, which changed a bit. We decided to scrap the idea of a 3D courtroom in favour of a 2D one to make development easier. Another thing we discussed is the length of the game. We ended up on the idea of making 5 cases, and if we’re able to do more, we’ll add them after. We encountered some difficulties, such as porting from Twine to Inkle being harder than we thought, but in the end, we pulled through.
