The missing game my group has decided to make was in the horror genre and the concept for it was you are looking for your missing friend in the location he was last known to be in the date and time we would desire to have this done by would be on the 12th of may before our deadline hits the goal we have set for ourselves were to make a horror game where the monster is trying to capture people for whatever reason it sees fit the tasks where split between the three of us and the roles were T as the coder M as the lighting designer and me as the level designer we started of with me making the first level first and after T made the player script and after I started making the second level he added a monster script after I finished the second level M added rain to the first level and he should add lightning affects and the lighting details.

What I did was:

Create the Levels and decorated them

Add collisions to environment, player and monster

Put the player and monster sprites

Made sure the player and monster can fit in all the places that I made

Added the friend

Challenges I faced:

The monster and player kept spinning on collision with the Level and props the solution that I found was to freeze the rotation in the constraint settings.

The other challenge I face was the player not fitting through the gaps I made because I upscaled the sprite the solution I found was that when I upscaled the sprite it also upscaled its circle collider 2D so what I did was just lower the size of the circle collider 2D.

Another challenge I face was multi parted textures not moving all at the same time when I move one part the fix that I found was to make all but one-part children of that one part and then after when I moved the parent node all the children nodes moved with it making my job easier moving things around.

Reflection:

The design changes I made where to the player and the monster they were originally just a white circle and a red triangle the white circle being the player and the red triangle being the monster.

Most of the tables and props were changed on the future.

More foliage was added to the first level when I was finished with the second one.

I had to bring in another sprite pack just to get the second level feel lived in and furnished.

The things that I think worked well was parenting the sprites so I could move multiple sprites at once so I could make slight but precise adjustments.

The things I plan to do more in the future is to make more of my own sprites and textures if the time limit allows it.

Things used that weren’t ours:
